The Ryonet Corporation started life as a dream for R. Moor in November of 2004.
In a rock band at the time, and seeking cash flow. He tried to devise ways to
produce income. He had designed a small screen printing press made of wood. So
the thought was, to sell this press on E-Bay, and try to make a little money.
The press sold rather quickly, so the idea was to build another and sell it
again on E-Bay. Eventually the people who were buying these homemade print
presses, starting asking about the availability of ink and other supplies.
The next move was to locate and re-sell these inks and supplies. Ryan went to
the local screen print suppliers in Portland. He arranged for some decent
pricing, and proceeded to
Sell the ink and supplies on E-Bay, as well. At this time, the operation was
being run out of a house, in a small rented barn. After a couple of months this
had picked up to the point that Ryan, justified hiring an employee. The next
couple of months saw the hiring of two more employees.
In February of 2005, the company hired a gentleman with extensive background in
both screen printing application and sales. The first order of business was to
cease buying from distributors, and start buying direct from the manufacturer.
After a slow but sure process, the Ryonet Corporation began to partner with
various equipment and supply vendors. On April 1st 2005, the company rented an
8300 square foot building in Vancouver, to keep up with the growth and need for
new employees.
With the added work force needed, the decision was made to train local Vancouver
residents, as opposed to hiring experienced positions. The idea was to have the
employee start at the ground floor, and grow with the company. A training
program was put in place to train employee’s in the different facets of the
company. UPS was brought in to train for the shipping and receiving departments.
Freight companies were contacted to train the employee’s for truck shipping. The
employee’s are trained for the first- in, first- out method of inventory
control. Other employee’s were trained in the manufacturing process. The Ryonet
Corporation manufactures a number of products, that are built and assembled in
our facility. Employee’s are trained in both facets of preparing raw materials
as well as final assembly. Employee’s are also cross trained, to allow
employee’s to move through different departments on an as needed basis.
The other reason was to keep the local dollars, well, local. With the advent of
the training programs in place and the continuing search for new products, the
company began to grow. With the implementation of a local work force, trained
from within the company. And a full benefit package for employee and family.
With the purchases made locally, to produce our own products, thus also
contributing to the local economy.
Equipment was then purchased, to allow the company to manufacture some of the
core products that it sells. With aggressive internet marketing, as the company
is for now, internet based and the ever expanding product line, The Ryonet
Corporation has grown from one employee, to 19 employees. Representing 51
vendors and turned into a very successful company. The Ryonet Corporation is
moving forward and asserting itself as a force in the printing marketplace.
Always keep in mind, we are here for our customers and committed to their
success. If there is anything we can do to help you or anything you feel we need
to improve on, please don't hesitate to let us know. Thanks for your business
from everyone here at Ryonet and SilkScreeningSupplies.com.
