An I-Dot DTG Printer is a sophisticated and expensive piece of machinery. Owners
should take personal responsibility to maintain and service this equipment to
ensure its performance. Just like you need to change the oil and tires in
a car, there scheduled maintenance that needs to be done on the i-Dot. This page

*This should be done about once a week in an office
environment using a compressed air can. Only
clean with a CLEAN SOFT RAG as the video shows below when the encoder strip is very dirty. Follow the video instructions on how to release the print head and clean with
compressed air, this should with printer off, turn the printer back on with the head in the center
position, the head will reposition itself automatically.
