Artwork:
We need images/designs in a Vector format or High Resolution JPG, TIFF, PDF, or PSD Files (Preferably at least 300
DPI or higher. We do not accept CDR's).
NOT Accepted: A "Bitmap" format (internet images, .gif, .bmp, jpeg, etc). If
you are using a "scanned image" it is a Bitmap. Images from websites and the
Internet are not only Bitmaps but usually only 72 DPI (dots per inch) and very
low resolution = low quality for printing. These look great on your computer
monitor but are not useable for printing. We look at each art job and determine
the best course to yield the best print and fit within your budget.
You have single solid color or text, multiple solid color or text, 4 color
processes, simulated process (Rock & Roll prints), Vector, and specialty prints
(Glitters, HD) are the methods used to recreate your Masterpiece. Unless you
specify the technique or inform us of budget issues we will choose the
appropriate method.
The best file formats for screen printing:
- CDR (Corel draw),
- AI (Adobe Illustrator),
- EPS (Encapsulated Postscript),
- High Res TIF, PDF, or JPG (300 DPI or higher)
- WMF (Windows Metafile)
- or DXF/DWG (AutoCAD)
- PSD Adobe Photoshop saves as a PSD. File and is a
JPEG. Resolution should be set at minimum 150 to 200 maximum, preferred is
300 dip +.
If you are sending a multiple color image, please do not flatten.
If you are sending a single color image, please send as a flat image.
All charges DO NOT INCLUDE screens; this is a coating, film output, very simple
art corrections and exposure charge ONLY.
Additional Art Charges / Disclaimer MUST READ:
A $70.00 per hour artwork charge is diligently charged when art is not ready
to output. You'll need to do the initial work yourself to keep this charge to a minimum.
Customers will be notified regarding artwork fees and an estimated time be given
to the customer and payment information will be taken (such as credit card
number) prior to the artwork being done. Immediately after the artwork is
completed the customer will be notified of final cost and then charged on their
invoice. If the customer needs to go from a 156 to a 230 mesh or something
simple like this, we do not charge extra. If you do not understand this
charge, have questions, or need clarification before you order please call
503-753-0363.
Emailing your artwork / design:
Yes. Sending your artwork via email is common. We receive many emails with
attached artwork each day. Please be sure and use the above information and file
formats. You can reduce the size of the artwork to an acceptable level for
emailing as we will enlarge or reduce to fit the smallest garment in any order.
After re-doing your artwork into our graphics system, we will email to you for
your approval.
We suggest that you first "test send" your email with artwork to yourself,
before sending to us. Simply attach your graphics file to an email addressed to
your own email address, then send. Usually, what you receive (see) is what we
will see.
Screen printing General Info:
Each final design (artwork) is sized according to the SMALLEST size garment
in each order. Example: in an order of 20- youth mediums, 10 adult mediums and 3
adult XXLs, the final design is made to fit the youth mediums. Extra sets for
sizes can be made at double the initial cost.
Youth sizes: "Full size" back or front is about 8" wide.
Adult sizes: About 10-13" wide. "Left or right-chest” imprint sizes are usually 3-4" wide.
A sleeve imprint is usually 2-3" wide. If you have a specific size for your
image imprint please advise - indicate on your design or via an email. Same for
location of print. If nothing is indicated on our Order Form, or via email, we
will process your order as being a "full-front" or "full-back" image. If you
indicate neither front, nor back well will contact you.
Specify imprint locations: “Full-front, full-back, center-chest, center-back, left-chest, right-chest,
left-sleeve, right-sleeve"- all as if you were WEARING the garment. You must
specify what you’re printing for proper artwork placement.
Dark Color t-shirts: Screen printing any LIGHTER color of inks on a DARKER color of garment
requires an underlay or “Flash” screen, if doing a one color on darks simply
flash and print said color again. This under base (Flash) keeps the "top"
(viewed) colors from "blending" with the dark background of the shirt which
produces a muted image color (known as bleeding). If white ink is not one of
your design colors, then you need to ADD this white screen to the total colors
in your design.
Photographs (black and white, or colored from newspapers) are not acceptable
for textile printing, these photos are composed of fine dots which get lost in
the screen mesh and in the course weave of the garments. A photo that is in its
original state will work better (snapshot) If you must scan the photo increase
your resolution from 300 to 600 DPI. The BEST artwork for printing on textiles
is: - the bolder, the less complicated, and the more eye-appeal (like reading a
highway billboard - only a quick view to get the message).
Email: Any questions or concerns you may have regarding your artwork,
layouts, imprint sizes / locations, etc.

Snail Mail: Please Contact Above
The fastest way to reach us is via e-mail as it is extremely difficult to
answer questions on the telephone since we may not have the needed information
at the ready. We prefer NOT take orders via telephone simply because details are
better conveyed when written. We answer all emails within a very short period of
time.
Money and Time Saving Tips: Print fewer ink colors (each color requires a separate screen).
Send correct artwork and sizing requirements.
